One-Time Projects

Organize a collection of items to be donated to Milagro House

Participate in one of our quarterly service days*
*Due to the nature of our program and the importance of consistency and stability for our residents, we do not have opportunities within our homes for one-time volunteer experiences, other than our group service days.
Ongoing Volunteer Experiences
-
Receptionist/Greeter—answer phones, greet visitors, accept donations, assist residents as needed
-
Babysitting—either regular, ongoing babysitting at pre-arranged times or placement on our on-call babysitting list for “as needed” babysitting situations

Tutoring—either for the GED or enrichment students, the post-secondary students or the school-aged children
-
"As-Needed" Opportunities
-
Drivers—for women and children to go to appointments or to run errands
-
Large Donation Retrieval—a large vehicle is required
-
Skilled Contractors (specifically, HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, painting and roofing)
REQUIREMENTS for ongoing (not one-time) volunteers:

Completed volunteer application

Pennsylvania criminal background check
-
Child Abuse clearance
-
Valid driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance (for drivers)

Participation in a scheduled tour and orientation session
-
Ongoing training if needed
Please note that typically, ongoing volunteer opportunities exist on weekdays, during daytime and early evening hours. We have very limited needs for weekend volunteers.
