Milagro House Lancaster PA

How you Can Help : Donate

Milagro House honors the confidentiality of your personal information.
Because we appreciate our donors and respect their privacy,
no donor information will ever be given, sold or provided to any outside organization

Milagro House is a program run strictly by the generous donations - financial as well as food, clothing and household items - of our community. We are always grateful for your interest in our program and your desire to help our mothers and their children. Unfortunately, we sometimes are given items that, because they are unsafe, soiled or otherwise unusable, we must pay to dispose of.

Here are several donation-related policies that will help us make the most of the support we receive from you:

1. The bottom line is that money is always what we need the most. With cash, we can do anything from paying the electric bill to buying juice boxes for the kids. You may direct your financial donations to “operations” (bills, utilities, salaries, etc.), for supplies for our families, to our education endowment or to the Milagro Foundation. One hundred percent of your cash donations to Milagro House is tax deductible and will be used specifically to the benefit of our families.

2. We can always use donations of food items, whether they are fresh, frozen, or in cans, jars or boxes. If a food product is past its expiration date, please do not donate it as we can’t be sure it will be safe for our families. Please do consider donating fresh meat, chicken and fish in large quantities or small. Our mothers prepare meals for their own families and it is a blessing to have a supply of good quality meats for them to use in preparation of healthy meals.

3. Please donate only clothing and items that are clean and in good condition. Clothing that is torn, outdated, or dirty cannot be used by our residents or neighbors. Household items, toys and games that are broken or incomplete cannot be used. We spend, literally, hundreds of dollars each year to dispose of unusable items, so please use your best judgment when bringing donations for the families of Milagro House.

4. Although we appreciate you trying to help, please do not bring us all the items remaining from your neighborhood or church yard sale. We do not have use or storage for large numbers of items that have outlived their usefulness.

5. Finally, please remember that Milagro House is an organization run without government or agency funding. We can not provided our services without your help. If you or others you know are interested in donating goods, money or services to a community based program that has proven results, please consider supporting the women and children of Milagro House. And always feel free to call us at 509-1401 or 392-1101 if you have questions.
